I wasn't familiar with Charlie Kirk... but I had seen him a time or two. I don't watch television or follow media much, however, seeing and hearing of his passing was unavoidable. 

After watching many clips of his debates, I immediately grew much respect for him. He was a man of truth and boldness; a sold out Spirit filled follower of Jesus who reached billions. 

In the past week his wife and children that he left behind have weighed heavy on my heart. I've imagined how I would feel if I were in her place. I love my husband, he's my best friend. I'd be heartbroken. Words can't express the pain she must feel; my heart absolutely breaks for her. 

All week I found myself worshiping to a song called "Praise is the Breakthrough". Some lyrics follow...

You are my light, You are my strength
You are my song of deliverance.
You are my hope, You are my joy....in every season.

As I reflect on these words I think of his wife, Erika. The Lord is her hope in every season... including this one. In a season where most would struggle to find hope and joy, the Lord is that for her. He's such a good Father. I reflect on the social media post she shared that morning, before her world was turned upside down.... "Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Her heavenly Father knew what was about to transpire. He went before her, reminding her that He is her strength, right there beside her, in front of her, and surrounding her. 

As I was spending time with the Lord, I asked Him to show me what He saw as the moment approached. As the shooter was on the rooftop waiting.... what did You see Lord? He showed me Heaven, preparing for a celebration. 2 Corinthians 5:8 helps us to understand that as a Spirit filled believer, we are immediately with Jesus once we take our final breath... "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."

Charlie Kirk was not assassinated because of his political beliefs, he was martyred for his faith and his walk with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."  Verse 12 continues to say "rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven."  

Martyr - a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs. 

We all live in a spiritual battlefield where the kingdom of darkness is fighting against the Kingdom of Heaven. Ephesians 6:12 tells us "we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness is heavenly places." Charlie was assassinated because of the light within him and the authority he boldly walked in. 

There's no coincidences with God. Every moment of our lives are planned before He even created each of us. Turning Point USA was the name of Charlie's ministry. The death of Charlie is a turning point! A turning point that's being used to wake up the body of Christ, bring them to repentance, and turn them around to walk boldly in the authority we have been given. A turning point for us to fulfill the great commission and bring everyone around us to Jesus. 

I've watched the world mourn the passing of this remarkable man of God. Now we will watch the world stand up and follow in his footsteps. What the enemy meant for evil, the Lord has already turned for good. 

We cry for revival.... this is revival!
